Mental Health

Feeling down or anxious is a common experience, but if it starts to impact your daily life for an extended period, it could be a sign of a mental illness. Depression and anxiety disorders are prevalent and can be debilitating, but there are safe and effective treatments available to manage these conditions.

Medistone Family Practice has a particular interest in supporting patients with depression and anxiety disorders and can provide guidance and support throughout the treatment process. If you have a mental health disorder, your doctor may suggest initiating a GP Mental Health Care Plan. The GP Mental Health Care Plan offers rebates for up to ten individual and ten group allied mental health services per calendar year to patients with a diagnosed mental disorder who are referred by your doctor. These services include psychological assessment and therapy provided by a clinical psychologist.

Practice Announcement

We understand the pressure that rising living costs are putting on many families. That's why, with recent government policy changes, we are transitioning to bulk billing of all consults from 03/11/2025. This will help reduce the financial burden on you and your family, and ensure continued access to high-quality care.

As we have not opted to be a full bulk billing practice, procedures will continue to be privately billed.

If you have any questions, please speak with our friendly reception team.
